Constructed in 1952 as housing for 156 seniors (with mostly single rooms); Dedicated by Sally Fisher to her husband, Fred Fisher, former member of the Board of Trustees; At the time of construction, Fisher was the 2nd residence hall to have a social lounge; Notable past residents include Joe Montana '79 (pro football), LaPhonso Ellis '92 (pro basketball), Orlando Woolridge '81 (pro basketball), and Regis Philbin '53 (entertainer); Summer 2001 renovations included new social space and a new chapel.
A majority of the rooms are either singles (40% of rooms) or doubles (50% of rooms). About 10% of the rooms are 4-man suites. There are a handful of private bathrooms in Fisher Hall.
RECTOR: MR. Rick Mazzei
Rick Mazzei is a Massachusetts native who graduated from Notre Dame in 1978 with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing. While a student at Notre Dame, Rick was the goalie for the Notre Dame Lacrosse Club, and served as the President of the club his senior year. Rick has been a Catholic school educator for the past 36 years, including a five year stint as Principal of Our Lady of Grace School in Chelsea, Massachusetts. Rick just completed his 30th year at Malden Catholic High School, an all-boys Xaverian Brothers school located outside Boston. At Malden Catholic, Rick served in many administrative roles, including Athletic Director and Admissions Director. Also during his tenure, Rick taught United States History. During his time at Malden Catholic, Rick earned a Master of American History degree from Salem State University. Over the past 33 years, Rick has been a Head Boys Lacrosse Coach in Eastern Massachusetts, coaching at Beverly High School for sixteen years and founding the program at Malden Catholic High School. A member of the New England Lacrosse and Beverly High School Halls of Fame, Rick is the first coach in the state of Massachusetts to record 400 wins.
