Karen M. Kennedy
Director of Housing
Karen Kennedy began serving as Director of Housing in September 2014. In this role, she is responsible for the operations of the Office of Housing, as well as serving as a member of the Residential Life Leadership Team. Previously, Karen served as Senior Advisor to the Vice President for Student Affairs at Notre Dame, Administrator for the Lynch Leadership Academy at Boston College, and Director of the Urban Catholic Teacher Corps of Boston College and the Archdiocese of Boston. She earned a Bachelor of Science cum laude in Science-Business with a concentration in the Hesburgh Program in Public Service from Notre Dame and a Master of Arts in Higher Education Administration from Boston College. She and her husband, Sean, live in South Bend with their three children.
Laura A. Connelly
Assistant Director for Assignments and Data Analysis
Laura Connelly began serving as the Assistant Director for Assignments and Data Analysis in January 2016. Included in Laura's responsibilities are all housing assignments for first-year and transfer students, renewal processes for both undergraduate and graduate housing, and communications from the Office of Housing. Previously, Laura served as the Coordinator for University Housing Operations at the University of Texas at Arlington for almost five years. At UT Arlington, Laura earned a Bachelor of Arts summa cum laude in Public Relations and completed her Master of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies with an emphasis in Higher Education Administration. She enjoys spending time with her family in Texas, going on road trips, and finding new places to hike with her husband, Wes, and their dog, Sophie.
Assistant Director for Summer Housing
Kim Kolk joined the Office of Housing as the Assistant Director for Summer Housing in February 2017. Kim is originally from Fort Wayne, IN, and moved to South Bend by way of Nashville, TN. Kim received her Bachelor of Science in Public Relations and Advertising from Florida Southern College, and her Master of Higher Education and Student Affairs from Florida State University. Previously, she worked at Belmont University in Nashville for four years where she served as a Residence Director, Summer Conferences Manager, and Assistant Director of Residence Life. In her free time, Kim loves crafting, running and weightlifting, good Mexican food, and college football, and she is so excited to be a part of the Notre Dame family!
Assistant Director for Off-Campus and Transitions
Tony joined the Office of Housing as Assistant Director for Off-Campus and Transitions in May 2017. In this capacity, Tony is responsible for overseeing off-campus student services for undergraduate and post-baccalaureate students, as well as coordinating the University move-in and move-out processes in the fall and spring of each year. Prior to this role, Tony served for two years as Assistant Rector of Fisher Hall and one year as the Full-Time Assistant Rector in Dunne Hall, where he helped open Notre Dame's newest men's hall. Tony graduated from Notre Dame with a degree in history, theology, and philosophy. He then earned a Master of Theological Studies from Notre Dame in 2016, where he focused on Catholicism in the United States, Catholic higher education, and the theology and spirituality of Basil Moreau, CSC. Tony is originally from Grand Rapids, Michigan, and he and his fiancée, Marcy, will settle in South Bend following their marriage this summer.
Eva Sporinsky has been with the Office of Housing since December of 2006. Prior to that, she worked as On-Call staff for the Office of Information Technology for 3 years, mainly working on special projects. Eva is currently pursuing an Associate’s Degree in Business Administration and will graduate in May of 2012. She is married to Steve, who is Manager of IT Support at Notre Dame. Eva has three sons; two live in Chicago, and her youngest son is attending Purdue University in the Engineering school. Eva has lived in the South Bend area for 29 years.
Heather Marshall began serving in the Office of Housing working primarily with summer housing in February 2016. Previously, Heather worked as Senior Staff Assistant at University Village and Fischer O’Hara-Grace Graduate Residences Complex for 9 years. In 2013-2014, Heather also served as a part time Housing Clerk with the Office of Housing for 9 months. Heather completed her Associate’s Degree in Business Administration through Notre Dame’s learning at work program in 2011. She and her husband, Andrew, have three children and live in South Bend.
